A quality left-handed batter and useful medium pacer, Prince Masvaure toiled for nine years in the domestic setup before finally getting a chance to represent Zimbabwe in Test cricket. Having started with baseball initially, Masvaure fell in love with cricket when his fifth-grade school team found themselves a player short and he was asked to fill in.

In 2003, Masvaure made the Zimbabwe Under-16 side that toured Namibia and the following year was selected in the Under-19 side. He played two Under-19 World Cups for his country: 2006 and 2008. He played just one game in the 2006 edition, but captained the side in 2008.

Masvaure made his first-class debut in the 2006-07 season of the Logan Cup for Northerns against Easterns where he scored 38 and 41 in the two innings. He was contracted with Mashonaland Eagles in the 2009-10 season and was a regular for them. But, soon he got dropped because of fitness issues. He then made a move to Southern Rocks, where once again he couldn't put up consistent numbers and even turned to farming for a bit. It was only a move to Mid West Rocks ahead of the 2014-15 season, where Masvaure turned a page.

With 472 runs in eight matches, Masvaure finished sixth on the Logan Cup 2014-15 batting charts. In July 2016, he was selected in the Zimbabwe A squad for a two-match four-day series against South Africa A. Against the likes of Vernon Philander and Dane Piedt, he scored an unbeaten 88 in the first four-day game and followed in up with 146 in the second game.

A few days later, a call-up to the Zimbabwe Test side arrived and he made his debut against New Zealand at home. Masvaure scored 42 in his first innings, adding 85 runs with No. 10 Donald Tiripano. He made his ODI debut in Pakistan in 2018, but his appearances in the international circuit have been sporadic.
