Be excited, be very excited. Sarah Taylor is one of finest talents to emerge into the England team for many years and has certainly built on fine start. This explosive, organized batsman burst on to the scene in 2006, taking the gloves twice and hitting a-run-a-ball 61 on her way to securing the series victory against India.

She is Sussex's wicketkeeper-batsman, and the England keeper-in-waiting, behind her hero Jane Smit. It was no shock to anyone but Taylor that she was first selection after consistent performances in the Super 4s.

Lightning-fast behind the stumps, Taylor kept out Brighton College's male keeper in for a spot in their first team, for whom she plays with England's Holly Colvin. Their development at the school was in good hands, as it's being overseen by none other than the former England captain, Clare Connor.

She has quickly risen towards the top of the women's game, taking apart bowling attacks with her powerful batting where she opens in the one-day game. She helped England to World Cup and World Twenty20 glory in 2009, striking 78 against West Indies in the 50-over competition and 50 not out versus India in the T20, where she also took a crucial stumping and two catches in the final.
