Profile

A keen fast bowler, Francois Plaatjies has experienced four-day and 50-over cricket on the domestic circuit but had yet to play Twenty20 when he was selected in the Cape Cobras' squad for the inaugural Champions League Twenty20 in India in 2009. He has not set the track afire with his pace, but Plaatjies has age on his side as well as the leadership of fellow fast bowler Monde Zondeki, whom he looks up to, in the Cobras squad. When not on the cricket field, Plaatjies works to complete his B Com Honours course at the University of the Western Cape.
