David Lloyd is rather unique in making his way into the Glamorgan set-up via North Wales. He was on the county's radar for a while and made his second XI debut aged just 16 in 2008. He attended Shrewsbury School, two years below England batsman James Taylor, and by 2011 was a regular for Glamorgan seconds and a year later was playing for Wellington in the Birmingham League. 2012 also saw his first-class debut where he made a pair at Headingley. It wasn't until the latter half of the 2014 season that he was given a run the Glamorgan first XI but failed to make an impact in three Championship matches and seven 50-over matches.
