Meyrick Pringle only managed to play four Tests and 17 one-day internationals for South Africa but is remembered for his performance against West Indies in Christchurch during the 1992 World Cup. Pringle dismissed Brian Lara, Richie Richardson, Carl Hooper and Keith Arthurton in a group match and finished with figures of 4 for 11. He could not repeat that success in following games, though, and did not play for South Africa after 1995.

He became involved in coaching after retirement. He had stints with Netherlands and Namibia before going to India, where he worked in a private academy in Jaipur before being named Rajasthan's bowling coach midway through the 2011-12 Ranji Trophy season.
