Sahan Wijeratne

Sahan Wijeratne is a player who unfortunately didn't get much attention of the selectors after a brilliant performance at the School level. He captained Sri Lanka under 17 in 2001in the Asia cup held in Bangladesh. He also captained SL under 19 in 2003 and captained Chilaw Marians and Baduraliya CC in the premier club tournament. Sahan was one of the two outstanding schoolboy cricketers along with Dhammika Prasad selected by the Sri Lanka cricket to play in the Middlesex league in 2002 as a scholarship. Representing Chilaw Marians he scored a carrier best 234 against Bloomfield in the under 23 tournament in 2003.
