Ollie Sale's career development has been held up by a serious back injury which needed surgery in 2015, and which pretty much ruled him out of Somerset 1st XI contention during his entire three years at Newcastle University, but as well as a degree he also picked up a two-year contract as Somerset kept faith in the hope of better times.

Sale, an Exeter club cricketer and product of Sherborne School, Devon age groups and the Somerset academy, is a tall right-arm fast bowler, had a glimpse of first team aqction during a NatWest T20 Blast tie against Hampshire in 2016.
