Scorecard
Sagicor High Performance Centre edged Bangladesh A with a three-wicket win to take an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match one-day series. Andre Russell, who had smashed a 56-ball 132 in the first one-dayer, was once again in the thick of things, taking a career-best 6 for 28.
Russell, who won his second successive Man-of-the-Match award, removed the Bangladesh A openers Imrul Kayes and Soumya Sarkar by the tenth over, and later took the wickets of Sabbir Rahman and the last three batsmen to quickly dismiss the visitors for 179 runs 46.5 overs. Marshall Ayub and captain Naeem Islam made 45 each, while Sabbir eked out 21.
The home side had a steady start to their reply with a 51-run, second-wicket stand between Jermaine Blackwood and Nkrumah Bonner. However, from 53 for 1, HPC slipped to 59 for 4 in the 13th over and were pushed further down to 103 for 7 in the 22nd over. Robiul Islam took three wickets while Farhad Reza and Muktar Ali took two each, but HPC fought back from there, through an unbeaten 77-run partnership between Chadwick Walton and Ashley Nurse. Walton was not out on 45 off 69 balls with Nurse making an unbeaten 40.
The last one-day match will be held on Thursday at Black Rock, after which the teams will play two Twenty20s.
