If I'm in the "Big Chair",, i'll never recomend "Kholi' for a captain job... he still having a school boy Attitude..

Ashwin or Raina may be the next ideas...

Kohli is the next captain for India. To captain a team, we need a player who can lead from the front, captain needs aggression to attack the opposition, needs grit and determination to chase heavy scores, energy and stamina to play for long in the test cricket. Kohli has all that. His temperament can be improved over a course of period and upon giving responsibility he would be better at it. Yes, he has to respect the senior players but at the same time if the senior players comment on him like Gambhir did while Kohli got out, what should be his reaction. His reaction on the field was not required but being senior and same country player, what Gambhir did also was wrong. Gambhir did purely out of jealousy because he is not getting a chance to lead India but Kohli might get it one day. Kohli being young and raw if he has the potential to lead the country, other seniors should support him. If everyone competes for that then they wont support. Thats India's problem.

agree, kohli is a prospective captain material; we dont say that you have to be a thorough gentlemen on the field. you dont have to be in the class of Rahul Dravid or MS or Kumble but just stop being ABUSIVE on the field. at least give some respect to the game. you may be a highly talented and efficient player but if you dont have a class, then..

the new generation of players will all have attitude like kohli's and agression. We will have to learn with it

Cricket is not about showing aggression and sledging. You have to be calm and composed so that the opposition doesn't figure your next move. This is where some of the great captains like Steve waugh , Graeme Smith , MSD stand apart from the others.Although Kohli has the grit and willpower of making his cricketing career big ,his lack of temper is something that might limit his prospect of becoming the future Indian Captain. The benchmark set by MSD is huge and to reach that is not so easy. Although it may sound quite odd at this stage to say that R ashwin could become the future captain , looking at the calmness and composure that he shows in the field and the ability to accept the hard realities provided he carries the good work in bowling I am sure that he is a good prospect of becoming the Indian captain.

Telll me something, why do we play the game? We play to win. If he gets us the wins, the volatility and short tempered nature is not only acceptable but warranted. Its called swagger. Look at the Australian team from 5-10 years ago and even before that, they were almost all hot headed and would sledge and be volatile. Who cares? THEY WON! And thats how we remember them. Grow up and cut the "Gentlemen's Game" business, its not gonna get us anywhere

i willnt b acceting kholi as a captain.

Good words from Ray Jennings. To me it's clear that he wants India coaching job in future. He being the coach of India and Virat as the captain is not necessarily a bad thing. Having worked with Virat before would be a plus and they will make a good combination.

I don't think he should be given so much importance by reffering him as the future captain. A person who can't respect his senior teammate doesn't worth a mention. He is so abusive and volatile, if made india's captain will bring disgrace to us. Cricket is all not about winning or lossing, It's a Gentlemans game and should be played in that sence.

Legends of Indian cricked all had charm and character. All the legendary captains have charm character, a great strategical mind, always positive and attacking. kholi is a talented character, no doubt about it, but at the moment he is not captain material. He has a bad attitude, short temper and volatile. This is clearly shown by RCB's poor form in the fair play.
