Gayle has a long reach, thus pitching it up/outside off was asking for trouble. Certain bowlers have succeeded against Gayle - it needs intelligent, good bowling. Someone like Ashwin or Mishra or Narine. Pune Warriors could have tried out Yuvraj. Anyway a great innings to watch - thanks to television which replayed the innings out several times.

witnessed the great batting display of Chris Gayle..was amazing to watch the ball every time in the stand....becoz of Dirk Nannes injury gayle got the chance in RCB as a replacement player...and all changed now

some ppl are saying bowling was weak, i wud say when Gayle bats like this, he makes bowling look silly and weak, the fact that even the miss hits clear the boundary make bowlers loose confidence and they start experimenting and Gayle never stops hitting OUT OF THE STADIUM. Many times PUNE bowlers tried to bowl WIDE not bowl in his strong areas but even they went out of park, Sometimes they tried bowling short to contain him, they were were also hit for SIX. they bowled slower one's they went out of STADIUM, they tried spin, they landed on bangalore roads.....This is purely greatest hitting exibition from Gayle. brute force, power hitting, words not enough. After watching GAYLE i started feeling like hitting SIX is easy. but i noticed other batsmen are struggling to clear boundary and only ABD cud able to do it for SHORT time. so conclusion is, hitting a SIX isn't that easy, GAYLE makes it look easy. same with bowling, he makes it look weak and silly. but it's not.

I saw the proceedings live and without wanting to take away anything from this historic feat it was pretty evident that Gayle was facing perhaps the most uninspired bowling performance ever seen in this competition It was a continuous array of easy to hit balls which got a little tiresome as it went on It all seemed as if they were giving Gayle six hitting practice Whats worse was that the captain didnt try hard enough to direct his bowlers at any stage and the bowlers didnt put in nay collective effort to get after the batsman

the best big hitter after VIV Richards

I like Gayle but no one scores 175 off 66 balls unless the bowling is totally useless. Just look at the bowlers on show and you will see that there are no bowlers of any note.
