Really ashamed of our cricket team. Ridiculous tactics and i dont blame anyone for hating on us for the way we played. Shudn't there be an enquiry of some sort by Sri Lanka Cricket? We had a captain who did everything he could to NOT win a game! But ofcourse, its the Sri Lankan Cricket Board and they only worry about ODIs and T20s and asking for loans to clean up their mess.

By the way, congratulations are due to the Pakistan team for achieving this run chase. Although SL were negative, the Men in Green had the wherewithal to take advantage of this negativity.

Those criticizing Mathews after this loss were possibly singing his praises after the first test win. Although he is the captain and must take the flak for this loss and tactics, I am sure fingers must also be raised at the coach and the senior players - Sangakkara, Mahela - who were there on the field and should have given better advice. What is the point of seniority if you stay aloof and do not advise the juniors?

methews is not a good captain , infact worst captain of srilanka i have ever seen

Pakistan did this type of job some time , need continuity to be a 1st team in ICC ranking, Mathew as a player wonderful ....

Matthew is not Captain material. Any Captain who thinks that he can hoodwink Cricket and escape out of it, should never be a Captain. His deceptive tactics would run badly on Sri-Lanka Cricket.

@Messa1: in fact, I think the seniors have been giving him the wrong advice ;)

What was Mathew thinking????? His plan to defend 302 runs was awful. Never attacked and didn't insert pressure on the batsmen at all. From ball one, he was defensive, no slips cordon, plenty of single for the liking of the batsmen thereby easing pressure. Wonder what Mahela and Sanga were doing? Didn't see them interact with Mathew at any point. This is a match that shouldn't have lost. Lost due to been too negative and terrible captaincy!!!!

There are so many questions that needs answers. Matthews has a poor record as a captain and is he suitable to carry on ? Also what is the role of Chandimal in the test side - he is lost in test cricket and he cannot take Sri Lanka cricket forward so who has to replace him ? SL has not been aggressive in the final day - if they cannot restrict Pakistan for less than 300 runs - as Russel Arnold says they have been sleeping like the rabbit who ran the race with the Tortoise.
