86.1 to SD Lad, short ball and pulled straight to backward square leg. 320/3
25 | 1 | 114 | 2 | 4.56 | 94 | 14 | 1 | 0 | 0 | |
83.5 to MA Agarwal, short and he has picked out backward square leg. 315/2 133.6 to KD Karthik, soft dismissal. It was full and angled down leg. It wasa half volley outside leg. Karthik looks to get a deflection to get it fine, but the ball kisses the edge and carries to the wicketkeeper. Could he have avoided it? Perhaps. Instinctively went for the glance but just didn't get the execution right. 496/5

103.1 to A Mithun, big heave over the leg side ends up in slip's hands. Gotta love those outside edges. Mithun was seduced by the flight to go wild, got down on his knee for a biff over wide mid-on. Good on Uthappa at slip to be alert for the possibility of a nick.. 388/4 142.6 to CA Pujara, chopped on. It was a googly bowled at a flat trajectory and was dropped short. Pujara makes room to cut but doesn't pick the variation. Ends up cutting too close to the body and chopping it on to the stumps. 542/6 154.3 to Parvez Rasool, pushed through on middle, Rasool went deep in his crease to swipe it through the leg side. Can't get his bat in line with a ball that skidded through and kept low. 580/7 172.4 to KV Sharma, seemed to be missing leg but given. Bowls a length ball on leg and middle and Karn comes forward to defend. But the ball spins back in and raps him on the pad. Umpire raises his finger but the turn and the angle did seem to suggest it would miss leg stump. 688/8 176.3 to SP Jackson, picks out long-on. It was pitched on off and spinning away sharply. Jackson tries to drag it from outside off and slog it. But doesn't find the middle of the bat and can get it only as far as long-on. Check the bottom part of his bat as he walks off indicating where the ball went off. 707/10

175.5 to MM Sharma, bowled through the gate. Tossed up outside off, Mohit comes forward to drive but the ball spins back in sharply to comprehensively beat the bat and take out the stumps. 707/9

18.1 to RV Uthappa, nicked to the keeper! Uthappa was well set, or appeared to be at least until he misjudged this ball. Not enough room to cut. But he went through with the shot anyway. 81/3 41.1 to PA Patel, angled into the left-hander, who is playing all around his front pad. Seemed like the ball skidded on from the deck, pins Parthiv in front of middle. Even though Pankaj was bowling from around the wicket, that would clip leg stump. Reverse swing for the big quick. 168/6
16 | 1 | 74 | 3 | 4.62 | 68 | 13 | 1 | 0 | 0 | |
3.5 to M Vijay, got him! Rushed down the track, Karn spotted it and whizzed the ball through a little quicker, a little flatter. Doesn't spin. Goes straight through the gap between bat and pad as Vijay was looking to slog it out of the park. Karn is jubilant. Gambhir would feel happy his punt with spin worked. 11/1 51.3 to JJ Bumrah, parries it up, and is alert enough to take the rebound. Captain Gambhir at gully does his bit to further his team's dominance. It was a bit of a short one, which Bumrah went back and tried to late cut. All well, expect for the fact he had a slip and gully waiting for such a shot. Gambhir lifts his left hand up to deflect the ball up towards the point area. He turns, runs after it and takes it easily. 210/8 60.6 to PP Ojha, and that is that. Ojha goes back, is in front of all three stumps. At this point he needs to make a connection wit hthe bat. Goes for a flick, misses, is hit on the pads and then sent on his way. 237/10
10 | 3 | 32 | 0 | 3.20 | 45 | 5 | 0 | 0 | 0 | |
7 | 2 | 16 | 3 | 2.28 | 36 | 3 | 0 | 0 | 0 | |
9.4 to Jalaj S Saxena, the game plan to drive on the up against a newish ball is always a risk and it catches up with Saxena. Pushes his bat at a good length ball which holds its line on off stump, his bottom-handed grip meant the face was a little closed as well when he made contact. Had very little going for him in that shot. Mithun roars in triumph. Good bowling. 37/2 40.6 to S Gopal, finds the edge finally. Bowls this on a length on the fourth stump channel. Shreyas is made to play, but his feet just don't move. Ends up walking into the shot a bit. The ball holds its line, kisses the edge and finds the keeper. Testing period for the batsmen, reward for some good bowling.. 168/5 42.3 to AB Dinda, timid push outside off, almost offering the outside edge and Agarwal takes it with glee at second slip. Dinda's legs take him away from the line of the ball, his hands go the other way. Looked every bit a tailender.. 177/7
16 | 3 | 56 | 1 | 3.50 | 71 | 9 | 0 | 0 | 0 | |
59.1 to SK Raina, pinned him in front of middle. Rasool rarely spins his offies, but Raina is a little late in bringing his bat down, perhaps because he was waiting to see what the ball would do off the pitch. And what it does, the pesky thing, is do him in. Bat comes down in an angle around his front pad. Straightforward decision for the umpire once it hit the knee-roll of the front pad. 233/9 |

37.1 to SD Lad, Lad bounced out? The soft signal is not out. The on-field umpires refer it to the TV umpire Navdeep Singh to check if that was a clean catch from Vijay, diving forward from wide slip. Looks like Vijay has his fingers under the ball. Sharp lifter, sharper catch. Banged in on middle, Lad's head looks away. This means he takes his eyes off the ball and fends it. The ball brushes the glove and pops up. It seemed destined to fall short before Vijay ran in and dived forward to pouch a low, clean catch, inches from the ground. Well done, Vijay. The short ball gets Lad again. 126/3

45.5 to CA Pujara, plucked at silly-point. Ojha throws this up on the off stump, grips, and turns. Pujara presses forward and simply defends it to the right of Dev Singh, the sub fielder. Soft, soft dismissal. He controlled the previous one, playing along the ground wide of silly-point. Lobs a catch this time. Credit to Ojha, he held this one back. 180/4 53.4 to KV Sharma, Karn lobs a return catch. Ojha dangles this slower outside off, another one sticks in the surface. That foils Karn's attempted drive. He plays early, instead of waiting on it, and miscues it back to the bowler. Ojha collects it in front of his chest. 227/7 61.1 to MM Sharma, one slog too many. Mohit was just deciding to have some fun here. They have a huge lead. The ball was pitched up on middle and leg, Mohit does not middle his slog and it goes straighter than he would have liked. Good elevation but Ashok Dinda runs back from mid-on and takes the catch. 272/9
17 | 0 | 77 | 2 | 4.52 | 65 | 9 | 2 | 0 | 0 | |
32.6 to G Gambhir, chopped on. Gambhir steps away outside leg and aims to cut one that isn't short enough for the shot. He drags it back from outside off via a thick inside edge. Played onto the leg stump. 118/1 34.3 to MA Agarwal, Agarwal's turn to chop on now. Offbreak, neither short nor wide enough for the cut. Injudicious shot selection. It turned in sharply off the rough. Two wickets in two overs for Saxena. 119/2
10.2 | 0 | 53 | 4 | 5.12 | 35 | 6 | 1 | 0 | 1 | |
52.5 to KD Karthik, DK sweeps a catch behind to Parthiv. Tossed-up legbreak outside off, some extra bounce again. DK pops a top edge to the keeper. Dolly catch. 226/5 52.6 to Parvez Rasool, And he gives it away for a golden duck. Short on the middle stump, stuck in the surface, and stopped a touch on Rasool. He moves back for a pull and ends up flapping a catch to short midwicket. 226/6 58.3 to A Mithun, soft dismissal. Loopy delivery on the leg stump channel. Tries to flick it away to the vacant region in the leg side but closes the face of his bat early. Results in a leading edge that lobs towards silly point where Tiwary completes a straightforward catch. 244/8 66.2 to Pankaj Singh, googly does him in. Pankaj goes for a wild slog and gets down on one knee. It was pitched on middle stump and he expected it to turn away. Doesn't pick the variation and misses completely as the ball crashes into the stumps. 298/10 |

2.6 to Jalaj S Saxena, caught at point. It was short of a length and outside off, Saxena opens his arms up and slaps it hard but doesn't manage to get it over point who slighly jumps up to hold on to an easy catch. First breakthrough for Blue. 17/1

25.2 to RV Uthappa, finally some respite for Karn. Sticks with flighting it. Gets this to land outside off and spin away. Uthappa looks to lift it over the infield on the off side but it turns more than he anticipates and goes off the outside half of the bat to cover point. 133/2 29.3 to M Vijay, gives it good flight and Vijay picks long-off.
