View dismissal LMP Simmons run out (Cook) 12 96 50 1 0 24.00
20.2 from Broad, Simmons tries the same thing and Cook, who had come in a yard or two, runs him out with a direct hit from mid-off! Good piece of work from the captain, leaving the batsman half a yard short. Simmons has to go and he trudges off at about the same pace with which he scored his 12 runs 79/3
View dismissal CH Gayle lbw b Swann 53 66 51 3 5 103.92
14.4 54.8 mph, flat delivery, not much turn and there's a big lbw appeal ... it's given but Gayle immediately reviews it. Swann was pleading, imploring for that decision and Tony Hill gave it after an age. There's definitely bat involved but was it pad first? There's no doubt the ball was going on to hit. It's practically impossible to tell if the ball squeezed on to the pad via the bat or the other way around. Perversely, the crowd probably don't want him to go ... but he has to, as the decision is upheld! 63/1
View dismissal DR Smith c †Kieswetter b Broad 0 9 4 0 0 0.00
16.2 83.2 mph, wide-ish and Smith nicks off! The ball might have left him a touch and he went for a full-blooded mow, only to thin one through to the keeper. Bit of a gimme wicket, that, and England's decision to bowl first is looking less like the madness it seemed 10 minutes ago 63/2
View dismissal MN Samuels c Bresnan b Broad 13 22 21 2 0 61.90
20.6 83.7 mph, Samuels - who I was about to say looked in good nick - top-edges a brisk bouncer straight to deep midwicket! He got in a tangle against a short ball a couple of overs back but it lobbed short ... this time the miscue sailed high and not-so-handsome to the fielder on the rope 79/4
View dismissal DJ Bravo c Bopara b Anderson 77 121 82 8 2 93.90
48.1 80.8 mph, swung straight up in the air, this is coming down with snow on it and well taken by Bopara at extra cover. It hung up in the air for an age but Bopara steadied himself well and clung on going slightly behind himself, a jolly good grab and Bravo's fine knock is over 232/8
View dismissal KA Pollard c Anderson b Bresnan 41 79 52 3 1 78.84
39.5 84.3 mph, got him! Heaved into the deep but it went more up then long and it's easily taken by Anderson, in fact not that much in the deep, he came in off the rope because it was that much of a miscue. The bouncer eventually works against Pollard and that's a vital strike for England at an important time 179/5
View dismissal DJG Sammy* c Morgan b Finn 21 22 20 1 1 105.00
45.4 74.3 mph, cracked straight to point and England strike at a good time. It was short and wide really but Sammy couldn't have picked out the fielder better, he's upset and rightly so, given it away when he was moving along well 220/6
View dismissal D Ramdin c †Kieswetter b Anderson 2 6 4 0 0 50.00
46.3 81.4 mph, edged and gone Ramdin, for some reason, steps away to try and a swing a length ball through the off side and nicks off. Poor decision really, just run the singles and let Bravo do the hitting 223/7
TL Best not out 7 19 12 1 0 58.33
View dismissal SP Narine run out (†Kieswetter) 2 9 4 0 0 50.00
49.4 Bresnan to Best, followed him and beaten again in between the pads and the stumps, they try to take a bye to the keeper but Kiestwetter finds the stump with the underarm and Narine is easily run out. Excellent work after the diving roll. 237/9

View dismissal AN Cook* c Simmons b Sammy 112 166 120 13 1 93.33
37.5 51.2 mph, tries to heave another one out of the ground but this time a top edge flies straight up in the air and mid-off comes across to make the catch a few yards behind the stumps. More ruthless efficiency from England's ODI captain, who has earned the plaudits again (even if he's not the dasher some wish he were) 203/2
View dismissal IR Bell c Gayle b Sammy 53 97 64 7 0 82.81
21.2 68.5 mph, caught at cover and West Indies do at least get something. Bell went on the drive on chipped an offcutter straight to Chris Gayle at cover. Useful bit of bowling that and a lifeline for the tourists 122/1
