View dismissal RJ Nicol c & b Samuels 59 113 69 4 3 85.50
26.1 Another soft dismissal, and Samuels is laughing himself silly here. Short of a length, just holds up a bit, and Nicol is early into the punch, lobbing it back to Samuels 125/5
View dismissal MJ Guptill lbw b Russell 11 20 15 2 0 73.33
5.1 Given lbw. Guptill has a chat with Nicol, and decides against reviewing it. This one skids a little, and does him in for the pace a little. Short of a length, just outside off, and he is deep into the crease to try to punch it. The ball nips back in, and skids off and hits him on the knee roll in front of middle and leg. Hitting top of leg 24/1
View dismissal DR Flynn c †Ramdin b Bravo 28 38 31 3 1 90.32
13.3 what a way to get out. This would have been called a wide had he not edged it. It's really wide outside off, and he has done well to reach it on the drive, but all he manages is an edge. He will be kicking himself for that. You don't get such flat wickets and small fields every day 71/2
View dismissal KS Williamson* b Narine 9 26 17 1 0 52.94
18.3 offbreak now, and is lazily dragged on. Length ball, outside off, and Williamson stays back to it, and also pushes at it away from the body. The inside edge hits him low on the pad, and rolls onto the stumps. That's a second wicket gifted today. And that's out of three 97/3
View dismissal TWM Latham c Gayle b Sammy 12 25 24 0 0 50.00
25.1 Sammy strikes. It's an interesting dismissal. C Gayle B Sammy. Gayle breaks into a little jig. As for Latham, if you are getting bullied by a Sammy bouncer, well... No disrespect to Sammy, pace like fire is not his virtue. This is dug in short, he goes back for the pull, is late into it, and top-edges it to midwicket 124/4
View dismissal BJ Watling c Narine b Russell 40 66 47 4 1 85.10
40.3 Too cute. Tries to follow up that lovely off drive with a scoop. Gets down on a knee, in front of off, the head falls away as he tries the dangerous shot, and he gets a bit too under it to lob an easy catch for Narine at short fine leg. It is the cutter that has done him in here 191/6
View dismissal NL McCullum c Bravo b Russell 50 104 70 4 1 71.42
49.1 length ball, slower ball, 116ks, outside off, McCullum sees an opportunity to get under it, but is slightly too early into this, and goes only as far as deep midwicket. A fighting hand from McCullum but one that is not likely to be enough 239/9
View dismissal JDP Oram st †Ramdin b Narine 7 19 10 1 0 70.00
44.3 walks right past one. Almost as if he was blindfolded. Oram jumps out of the crease, Narine bowls a flat offbreak, and Oram is about a foot away from the line of it. Stumped by a mile. He didn;t even bother trying to make it back 216/7
View dismissal KD Mills c Gayle b Russell 2 6 6 0 0 33.33
45.4 short of a length, outside off, Mills stands rooted and swings. Looking to go down the ground, gets too under it, and skies it for Gayle at cover 219/8

View dismissal J Charles lbw b Boult 15 13 14 3 0 107.14
3.2 that's dead plumb. Umpires don't get to make easier decisions than this. Low full toss, swinging in, and Charles has walked across to play across its line. Hit on the full. Can't get away with it. Boult has had a superb start to his ODI career 19/1
View dismissal CH Gayle c Nicol b Southee 11 37 22 2 0 50.00
8.4 Big wicket. Huge wicket. New Zealand know it. This game is not over. Gayle has been tentative so far, and has looked unsettled. Plays at a full delivery without any feet, from inside the crease, and just offers the bat to dry. The slight movement away takes a healthy edge, and Guptill pouches it at first slip 33/2
View dismissal DR Smith c McCullum b Oram 19 38 28 2 1 67.85
11.4 What a mindless shot from Dwayne Smith. Lovely catch from Nathan McCullum, though. Short of a length again, angling in towards off, Smith is caught in the crease as he tries to loft this over mid-off. As he is playing well in front of the body, all he manages is a lob that looks like it might clear cover, but McCullum runs back, and takes it superbly over his shoulder 50/3
View dismissal MN Samuels run out (Guptill) 11 31 18 2 0 61.11
14.4 from Mills, New Zealand fielders can turn into super heroes when they sense they can defend a total. Awesome is a word usually thrown around lightly, but this is truly awesome from Guptill at cover. Nicely punched by Samuels and he takes a few instinctive steps down the wicket. Guptill at cover dives full length, nay he flies, makes a one-handed save, and forget balancing himself, or getting up, he throws in what seems like that same motion, and takes down the stumps at the striker's end. And Samuels, who has only taken a few instinctive steps, is nowhere near the crease when the wicket is broken. Awe. Some. Awe some is what awesome does 62/5
View dismissal DJ Bravo run out (Southee/Mills) 2 4 2 0 0 100.00
12.2 from Mills, There is madness all around. New Zealand are accepting all their gifts with glee. Bravo trying only the 14th three in 11 ODIs at this ground. There is a good reason why threes aren't taken here. This is played towards deep midwicket, and he takes on Southee's arm, and is caught well short. Third umpire not even needed. Lovely slide from Southee, a left-handed pick-up, transfer to throwing hand, refusing the relay throw, and returning this right by the stumps, but still a gross misjudgement from Bravo. Not even a desperate dive would have got him in 52/4
View dismissal KA Pollard c sub (DG Brownlie) b McCullum 16 47 30 2 0 53.33
22.5 this is lacking in any cricketing intelligence. Michael Holding's famous words come to mind. Pollard has left a few, and swung at few without any rhyme or reason. This is a length ball, slightly slower in the air, and Pollard swings across its line to find deep midwicket with surgical precision. He could have done the same at least twice before 85/6
View dismissal D Ramdin lbw b Oram 14 53 40 0 0 35.00
27.3 Seven, eight, through the gate... Ramdin is trapped dead in front. short of a length, angling in, staying a little low, skidding through, hit on the knee roll in front of middle. Caught on the crease too. They heck for the no-ball, but Big Jake is fine 103/8
View dismissal DJG Sammy* c & b McCullum 7 12 7 1 0 100.00
26.1 back of the bat. Seven down. Sammy is not known for his soft hands, and is done in because of that. Looks to a flick a length ball, is way too early into the shot, and the hard hands mean it lobs back all the way for a simple catch to N Mac 95/7

View dismissal SP Narine run out (Williamson/McCullum) 10 14 12 2 0 83.33
30.5 McCullum to Russell, New Zealand fielders have recovered well from those drops. This time it is Kane Williamson. For any other team, this is driven wide of extra cover, but this team;s captain, Williamson, dives full-length to his right to field this cleanly, and throw this to the bowler while on the ground. Narine has gone through for the single, but Russell hasn't after taking three steps down the wicket. Narine gone. Third run-out of the innings 133/9
