3.2 to KC Sangakkara, slower ball works! Sanga was completely fooled and the offcutter has him spooning a catch to short cover. Barely any footwork, but the hands had committed to the drive. They were leading away from his body with the bat face pushed up when the ball made contact. Hodge, the fielder, dives forward to complete a wonderful set up. Sanga, obviously, felt like he should have seen through it as he yells in disappointment before walking off. 25/1 19.1 to CJ Boyce, leg stump almost-a-yorker knocks him over! Boyce was making room again, but suddenly realises he does not have the length ball he wants to slash over the off side. Tries to stop it, but just can't. 142/9 19.3 to SL Rainbird, there it is, all wrapped up with a slower ball. It was full and angled into the batsman to prevent any room. Rainbird looks to go over Neser's head, but ends up spooning a catch to long-off running in. 143/10

6.1 to BR Dunk, first BBL wicket for the youngster! All too simple, all too soft for Dunk. It was a fuller ball on middle and leg, so the flick shot was on. He just forgot to keep it down and the short midwicket fielder did the rest. 50/2 12.3 to MW Hill, a second one on his BBL debut. It appears to be a cross-seamer, held in the pitch a tad longer, and caught Hill on the move. His feet were stuck, his hands were pushing at the ball and it popped up to the man at mid-off. 94/4

18.2 to S Milenko, outside edge sails towards third man, debutant West is the one down there, he has to run to his left, he has to extend his hands over his head and he comes up holding the ball right in his fingertips. Had to go for the shot, the ball was there for the crash over point - full and wide outside off - but he had made a little too much room for himself and couldn't reach it off the middle. 137/7 18.4 to CA Rose, the slower bouncer hits wood this time, and Rose has somehow cut it straight down the throat of the man at sweeper cover. Lehmann comes forward, dives and takes it so cleanly. 137/8

15.2 to JW Wells, through him! That is a very satisfying feeling for a legspinner. He has dressed up a googly and sent it to crash Wells' party. The batsman is lead footed, because the length is full and he does not know if he wants to drive or block, and the ball beats the inside edge, kisses the pad and onto the stumps. 120/5 17.2 to DT Christian, lovely, clever legspin bowling. he is not doing anything fancy. A little change of pace, a little change in line. More often than not full. This is a legspinner on middle and leg, Christian is caught in two minds in front of the stumps. Goes for a flick, the ball misses bat, thuds into pad and the umpire says that's good enough. 133/6 |

18.5 to BJ Hodge, Tait nails a pinpoint yorker and rattles the stumps! Blockhole ball, Hodge loads up for a slog but Tait is too quick. He hits middle. 132/3

4.3 to JR Dean, Milenko strikes in his first over. Good length ball on middle, Dean plonks his front foot forward and lofts it in the air. Holes out to Dunk at wide long-on. He held the catch even as another fielder was running towards him, following the ball. 28/1 9.4 to TM Head, Head inspects the bottom of his bat and trudges off. Head can't clear Rose in the deep. Back of a length and on a fourth-stump line, slogged away straight down the throat of deep midwicket. Two in two for Milenko. 67/2 19.4 to AI Ross, Wells pulls off a cracker of a catch! Milenko can't believe it. Is he doing the star turn for Hobart? Length ball on middle and leg, Ross swings, Wells runs to his left from deep midwicket and completes a superb, tumbling catch. 139/4
