12.3 to RJ Quiney, lovely effort at point, close in! Quiney had moved leg side to slice a fuller ball from the stumps, and as well as he had connected, he didn't bother to keep it down. Turner watched it all the way, jumped at the last second and held it over his head to his left. 95/5
4 | 0 | 32 | 3 | 8.00 | 11 | 2 | 2 | 0 | 0 | |
1.6 to LJ Wright, back of a length and on off stump, Wright goes for a huge hoick across the line and gets hit too high on the bat to give him any chance of timing it. Goes straight up and lands in short midwicket's safe hands. 17/1 5.3 to KP Pietersen, the players and the crowd go up as one again and they get what they want. KP is gone! He stands and stares in disbelief, but there was an edge and it came as a result of his wanting to do a little too much to a ball that offered way too little. Just your standard good length ball outside off, gets the one the up drive, gets the outside edge, gets the Scorchers in prime position for a home semi-final. 33/3 7.4 to PSP Handscomb, top edge and the debutant holds a lovely running catch at long leg. Took care of KP, now he's knocked over Handscomb. Exults and as well he should, having hurried the batsman with his pace and bounce. That's how a short ball can surprise, it was headed for his nose too and this is a lot more like the WACA of old. 55/4

3.6 to MP Stoinis, "caaaaatch," they yell and Agar heeds the WACA crowd's war cry. Pace off the ball works at the very venue where it became the most captivating sight in cricket. Turner had followed the batsman shaping away into the leg side, and bravely kept the ball full. Stoinis went through with the shot, but his convictions come second best as picks out Agar at long-on. 27/2
4 | 0 | 25 | 2 | 6.25 | 8 | 2 | 0 | 1 | 0 | |
16.1 to A Zampa, and he shows it off! Deadly straight, with a hint of inswing, goes right through Zampa's big heave over long-on and says a rather rude hello to his leg stump. 117/7 16.4 to BW Hilfenhaus, rip-roaring yorker on middle stump! Simple high-arm action, spectacularly straight lines and right on the base of the three little targets behind the tailender. Hily makes room for a lace through the off side, suddenly realises he had to get his bat down, Does so, but Tye had hit the bulls-eye!. 119/8

13.4 to DJ Hussey, googly does it, although this wicket should go down in Agar's name! What a catch! Glasses on, cap on, gentle job to his left, a little leap and an overhead grab in the bucket. See if you can be that cool. Poor Huss, he'd nailed another shot too and the extra cover loft is one of the prettier shots in cricket. 101/6

0.4 to M Klinger, gone! Klinger has to go. Big wicket for Stars. Klinger drives away from his body and the ball lobs straight to backward point off the outside half of the bat. The fielder takes a comfortable catch and Stars have one. 0/1 2.3 to DJ Willey, one more. Worrall has his second. Willey goes. Scorchers stumbling. Fuller than a good length on off, the ball climbs steeply to take the top half of Willey's angled bat. Spoons up for point again.. 9/2 18.6 to MW Dixon, bowled im. That is it. Stars secure a home semi-final at the MCG. Very full on middle, the ball tailing back in. Sneaks through bat and pad to clatter into the stumps. Scorchers bowled out for 94.. 94/10

5.4 to MA Carberry, and the pressure has resulted in a wicket. Not a great ball this time, but it gets the job done. Shortish length on leg, Carberry goes for the pull but the ball sneaks through to hit him under the armpit before rolling back onto the stumps.. 26/3 5.6 to AC Agar, how has that carried? Wow. Almost a Test-match dismissal but it has carried to a conventional short fine leg who has come in just for that delivery. Back of a length on leg, the ball takes a thick inside edge before ballooning up off the thigh pad but the ball carries all the way to short fine leg. Good low catch by Worrall. 26/4 16.5 to JA Richardson, gone. Richardson goes. Shortish delivery outside off, Richardson goes for a pull, but the ball spoons up for Hilfenhaus to take.. 85/8

14.2 to AJ Tye, gone this time. Tye holes out to deep square leg. Length delivery on middle again, Tye goes for a swipe and gets it high on the bat. The fielder settles underneath it and takes a good catch.. 72/7

7.5 to CT Bancroft, gone. Got im. Handscomb doesn't collect but it bounced off the glove onto the stumps. Doesn't matter how its done, as long as its done. Very flat delivery on off, the ball skids on but the ball sneaks between bat and pad. Handscomb does the rest in unconventional manner.. 34/5 17.2 to GB Hogg, Hogg goes. Googly on off, Hogg goes for an expansive drive but the ball skews off the outside half in the air to cover. Hussey takes an easy catch. Not a very clever shot. 86/9

10.4 to AJ Turner, given. Out. One more. Stoinis gets one. Unlucky way to go. Poor delivery, down leg. Turner helps it on its way but doesn't get enough bat on it and Turner is strangled down leg. Scorchers sink deeper. 51/6 |
