Ted Clark was a right-hand middle-order batsman and left-arm medium-pacer who was a regular in the side for eight seasons from 1959, passing 1000 runs five times and making six hundreds. His bowling was little used at first but he became more effective in the latter years. He retired in 1966 but toured extensively with the MCC to East Africa (1973-74), West Africa (1975-76) and Bangladesh (1976-77 and 1978-79). In 1976 he made a one-match comeback for Middlesex against West Indians as the county was hit by an injury crisis - he made 26 and 6*. He served Middlesex as a committee member.
