Bijeysinghji Laxmansinghji, Maharawal of Dungarpur, was educated at Mayo College, Ajmer, where he showed his prowess at cricket, leading the batting averages for three seasons. He played against visiting sides. MCC in 1926-27 and 1933-34; the Australians in 1935-36; Tennyson's team in 1937-38 and the Silver Jubilee
Overseas Team in 1953-54. His only appearance in the Ranji Trophy was in 1938-39 v South Punjab. He was an aggressive left-hand batsman and left-arm medium fast bowler and he made his highest score, 27, v MCC in 1926-27. His son K. Rajsingh Dungarpur is chairman of the present Indian Selection Committee
