Legends of Rupganj keep on winning

Legends of Rupganj made it five wins out of five in the Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League. This time they beat Victoria Sporting Club by seven wickets at the BKSP-3 ground.

Batting first, Victoria made a modest 191-7 with Nadif Chowdhury top scoring with 57. Pace bowler Mohammad Shahid took four wickets. Rupganj banked on Jahurul Islam's 95 to reach the target in 46.1 overs. Jahurul struck nine fours in his 127-ball innings.

The result was similar in the BSKP-4 ground next door where Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club beat Brothers Union by seven wickets.

Maisuqur Rahman and Shahriar Nafees made half-centuries and shared a 117-run second wicket partnership as they successfully chased 220 runs in 48.4 overs. Maisuqur top scored with 87 while Nafees made 75. Earlier, Brothers Union made 219-8 in 50 overs with Saju Dutta taking four wickets.

In the day's other match in Fatullah, Kalabagan Cricket Academy snuck past Prime Doleshwar Sporting Club by four runs.

Batting first, KCA posted 208 in 49.4 overs with opener Irfan Sukkur making 72 off 118 balls. Elias Sunny took four wickets.

Brothers Union were restricted to 204-7 in 50 overs with Mehedi Maruf and Jubair Ahmed making 42 and 41 respectively. Mehedy Hasan took two wickets for KCA.
