Profile

David Masters has been a nagging medium-pacer for three counties - Kent, Leicestershire and most recently Essex. He is a smart bowler who makes the most of the skills he has to compensate for a lack of pace. In one-day cricket being in the 'medium pace' category has often helped him because the wicketkeepers have been able to stand up to the stumps. He and James Foster have been a good pairing at Essex. In first-class cricket he can be relied upon to keep the scoring under control and during the 2011 summer reached the 400-wicket mark.
