Profile

Aadil Ali graduated from Leicestershire's Academy in 2013. He made an important contribution as a batsman/offspinner to the squad that won the Second XI treble in 2014 and signed his first professional contract at the end of that season. Championship opportunities came in 2015 and he showed himself to be a diligent, if somewhat one-paced, batsman, providing the bedrock in a successful run chase against Derbyshire which ended a drought of nearly three years without a Championship win. He also sought to develop his offspin in the search to become a more adaptable cricketer.
