Dennis Baldry was a right-handed middle-order batsman and offspinner who enjoyed limited success in six seasons with Middlesex. In 1959 he moved to Hampshire and made an immediate impression, scoring his maiden hundred - 151 - against Glamorgan on his debut and finishing the summer with 1715 runs - almost four times his previous best - at 29.06, including three hundreds, and 32 wickets at 32.00, again by far his best return. He failed to maintain that form and did not play after 1963 but kept turning out for the Hampshire 2nd XI.
