Profile

A fast-medium seamer, George Panayi made his Championship debut for Warwickshire aged just 19. Having joined the club's youth system as a 14-year-old, he captained Shrewsbury School and represented Shrewsbury in the Birmingham League before graduating to represent England U19 in both 2016 and 2017. Coming into a struggling Warwickshire side in June 2017, he claimed Haseeb Hameed as his maiden first-class wicket and was rewarded with a new two-year contract at the end of the season. He struggled for further opportunities, however, and was released at the end of the 2019 season.
