View dismissal HH Gibbs b Broad 74 119 75 9 0 98.66
28.2 Gibbs shuffles right across the stumps and tries to flick the full length delivery outside off over short fine leg but fails to connect and it ricochets of the thigh pad on to the stumps. Fine innings from Gibbs. 158/5
View dismissal HM Amla run out (Shah) 34 40 31 8 0 109.67
9.1 Flintoff to Gibbs, Shah gets Amla run out with a direct hit. Gibbs had charged down the track and mistimed a shot past the bowler and set off with the stroke. The ball went behind the stumps and Shah came across from mid-on. Amla was very late in responding and tried to run down the track between the stumps and the throw but the ball beat him to crash into the stumps at the striker's end. Against the run of play, a wicket has fallen. Amla was caught ball watching there. Gibbs looks very surprised and stares long and hard at Amla. Very good effort from Shah, he picked it with his left hand, swung around as he passed the ball to the right and fired down the stumps 66/1
View dismissal JH Kallis* c †Prior b Flintoff 1 12 8 0 0 12.50
11.2 massive wicket, and an even bigger controversy looming here. Kallis swishes loosely outside off to a ball that nips off the seam, and appears to beat the bat. Prior claims a comfortable edge and appeals, and Simon Taufel - after a consultation with his colleague - refers the decision upstairs. The third umpire, Ian Gould, can only adjudicate on whether the ball carried, not whether there was an edge or not. And so, Kallis has to go. And he is livid ... But the snickometer shows there was an edge. 75/2
View dismissal AB de Villiers c Flintoff b Patel 14 35 34 0 0 41.17
20.2 swiped straight to deep midwicket. Samit Patel gets into the act. It was floated on the off, de Villiers cleared the front foot and went for the slog sweep but straight to the man in the deep. 113/3
View dismissal JP Duminy c Bell b Flintoff 20 26 18 2 1 111.11
27.2 Flintoff takes out Duminy. He backed outside leg and went for the slog across the line but skied it up and was caught by Bell at short midwicket 155/4
MV Boucher not out 10 24 12 1 0 83.33
View dismissal VD Philander c Anderson b Flintoff 10 14 12 1 0 83.33
31.2 fuller in length, around off stump, Philander went for the lofted shot, got too much under the ball and immediately realised he is going to hole out; put his head down as he scampered across and his gut feeling was spot on. Straight to long-off. 179/6
