A middle-order batsman who also bowls handy legspin, Nkrumah Bonner made his T20I debut for West Indies in 2011 but struggled to nail down a place at international level, playing only once more before a long absence from the national set-up.
After a number of middling returns for Jamaica in regional cricket, he earned a spot as a reserve on West Indies' tour to England in 2020 following a 523-run haul in the 2019-20 Four-Day Competition, and was also among the standby players during their Test series in New Zealand. A spate of withdrawals from senior players gave him an opportunity in both the Test and ODI squads for the tour of Bangladesh in early 2021.
