About the only thing we've learned from this match is that Glenn Maxwell is not even close to being a Test class spinner. Some useful time in the middle for the strong Sri Lankan batting line-up, but only against bowlers who, with the exception of Butterworth, would be pleased to make their state 2nd XI when at full strength.

And on the third day it shall be put out of its misery. A fitting end. Henry's innings wasn't as chanceless as it has been made out to be. Maxwell played T20 (with both bat and ball), the form of his forte and fortune. Sri Lanka rested two key bowlers while persisting with a three-slip-plus-gully field. SL sent their batsmen out for short net sessions (and extended ones on the field of play). Khawaja bowled offies for a wicket. The first two things will no doubt happen again, the last three are unlikely to be repeated any time soon. As for form-guides of any substance, one may as well consult the dregs in the bottom of a cup of the Sri Lankan tea. The tea met with my agreement though.

Sangakkara didn't perform as well in NewZealand series. He plays well in this match. So, we expect that we will return Sangakkara as a "Tiger Batsman" in Australia series. The young man Dinesh Chandimal also plays well.We count him as "Future Sangakkara" for Srilankan team.Congrates to DILSHAN,MAHELA,SANGA,PRASANNA,CHANDIMAL.Keep it up.

well batted boys but dont forget this flat track will be worlds away from the test wickets so take the confidence and apply yourselves to score again against test bowlers and a much more challenging wicket...good luck SL, make us proud...

If the match was an indicator then Karunaratna should open with Dilshan in the Tests;hopefully he too would curb his shots for a long innings. Ranil Herath - Kent

Not a good choice at all. We should have given our bowlers a run for 2 sessions. Very poor planning.
