Ian Watson was a top-order batsman whose brief first-class career consisted of three matches for three counties, and no County Championship appearances. After a trial with Gloucestershire in 1970, he joined Northamptonshire for two seasons, and finished with a year at Hampshire.

Over the last few months, he has slowly moved from a flashy finisher, to a more measured risk manager
It was Grant Elliott and New Zealand's time in Auckland. Not South Africa's. But the Proteas will leave this tournament wondering when that will ever change. Maybe next time.
