Profile

An opening bat and former England Under-19 captain, Arran Brindle smashed the world record for the opening stand in a Test with Caroline Atkins in Lucknow, India, in January (2002) as she reached her then-highest Test score of 85. She surpassed this in 2005 in the first Test against Australia at Hove, when she made her first Test hundred to save England from defeat and so enable them to go on and win the Ashes.
