Profile

A right-arm medium-pacer, who can chip in with handy runs in the lower order, Deepak Punia started his first-class career with Services in the 2014-15 domestic season, before moving to Saurashtra the following season. Punia was part of the Saurashtra team that finished runners-up in the Ranji Trophy 2015-16. He made a few useful contributions along the way, taking three second-innings wickets to help seal an innings victory over Vidarbha in the quarter-final, and scoring a quickfire 42* to bolster Saurashtra's first-innings lead in their win over Assam in the semi-final.
