Profile

A promising pace bowler, Jason Holder is the recipient of the prestigious Lord Gavron Award, which he won in 2009, following the footsteps of Kemar Roach. He played one first-class game, taking two wickets at 21.50, before being called up for the Under-19 World Cup in New Zealand, where he was his team's leading wicket-taker with 13 wickets. He replaced the injured Tino Best for the limited-overs leg of the Bangladesh tour in 2011. He made his international debut in Australia a few months later. He was signed by Chennai Super Kings in the 2013 auction. Holder made his Test debut against New Zealand in Bridgetown in June 2014. He took two wickets and his fighting 52 at No. 7 in West Indies' second innings provided much-needed resistance, though New Zealand managed to complete the win.
