An allrounder who combines middle-order batting and offspin bowling, Jason Floros relocated from his native Canberra, where his family runs an indoor sports centre, to Queensland when the Bulls handed him a rookie contract for 2009-10. Floros, a left-handed run-maker, was called into the squad for the Sheffield Shield final to gain experience and in case his athletic fielding was required.
After recovering from a broken jaw early in the Brisbane grade season, he was the Player of the Championship in Australia's Under-19 domestic competition in 2009-10 and was named in Australia's squad for the Under-19 World Cup. He scored 35 in Australia's final victory and finished with 218 runs at 36.33 for the event.
