Isobel Joyce struck a quick half-century to lead Ireland to victory in their rain-affected RSA Twenty20 international against Pakistan in Dublin. Chasing a Duckworth-Lewis adjusted target of 91 in 15 overs, Isobel scored 56 off 32 balls as Ireland chased down the target in only the 11th over with nine wickets in hand.
Isobel and her opening partner Clare Shillington took the game away from Pakistan by adding 66 in just 6.5 overs. Shillington contributed 21 off 20 balls before she was lbw to Sana Mir. There was no further success for Pakistan, though, as Isobel reached his fifty off 29 balls and achieved the target in the company of Emma Beamish.
Pakistan's innings had been curtailed to 15 overs because of rain earlier in the day. They managed only 80 for 3 with Sajjida Shah top-scoring with 27. The Whelan sisters, Heather and Jill, were Ireland's only wicket-takers, taking 1 for 5 and 1 for 16 respectively.
