Nairobi Club is the oldest ground in Kenya and was the first to get a turf wicket (it was laid by Don Pringle, father of Derek who played for East Africa in the 1975 World Cup). Cricket is just one of many sports played at the Club - the Kenyan Davis Cup matches are played there and there are also an all-weather hockey pitch, squash, bowls and swimming facilities. The cricket pavilion has recently been renovated and the changing rooms are of international standard. The pitch is consistent, if slow, and the outfield is generally good.
