A right-arm fast bowler, Matt Harvie made his Otago debut in 2003-04 while still studying at Otago University. However, injuries came in the way and he wasn't able to maintain a regular place in the side. The 2008-09 season was his best, where he picked up 19 wickets in the State Championship. He is currently working hard on his fitness and re-establishing himself in the team.
