Sahibzada Farhan

Sahibzada Farhan was long touted as an emerging prospect on the domestic circuit, but he made the step-up to regular international appearances relatively late in his career. Those came in the form of T20 cricket, the format in which he made his domestic reputation, with a standout season for Islamabad United in 2025 cementing his place as first-choice T20I opener.

What Farhan lacks in elegance he makes up for with effectiveness and adaptability. He made his domestic debut in T20 cricket as a 17-year-old, though it is in first-class cricket that he piled on the runs, scoring more than 4500 at an average in excess of 45 in nine years since 2016. His obvious talent earned him a T20I debut at 22 against Australia in 2018 in a tri-series in Harare, but, as is often the case in Pakistan, he was dropped after three games and wouldn't don international colours again until 2024.

The inability to convert domestic prowess into international consistency has been a recurring theme in his career, but he appeared to have turned a corner in the 2025 PSL season, where he scored 449 runs in 12 games. Brought back into the T20I side, he would excel in series against Bangladesh and West Indies, scoring three half-centuries in six innings, and placing himself firmly in international contention.
