South African-born allrounder Graeme Van Buuren joined Gloucestershire in April 2016 on a two-year contract. A middle order batsman and left arm spinner, he signed up after making 170 in a 2nd XI game against Glamorgan the previous year. in 2015. He qualifies as a non-overseas player because his wife Hannah holds a British passport. He first gained attention with Enfield in the Lancashire League, Gloucestershire beating Sussex for his signature.
Van Buuren, a former South Africa U-19, plays for Pretoria-based Titans. He made his first-class debut in 2009 and averages more than 50 with the bat and 25 with the ball in the longer form of the game.
He had a successful first season with Gloucestershire in the Championship, averaging 45, but flattered to deceive in the NatWest Blast.
