TEAMS

Jack Dennis was in the XI at Forest School for four summers, captaining them in his last year when he made 91 against a strong MCC side. He made his Essex debut in 1934 and played 23 games as an amateur in the six seasons before WW2 as a lower middle-order batsmen. In all that time he made only one fifty, against Sussex in 1937, and he also led the side in one game later that summer. His career as a solicitor restricted his appearances and he did not continue after the war. He played his club cricket for Loughton.
