TEAMS
Charles Pigg was described by Wisden as a "free batsman and slow round-armed bowler who was for five years in the Abington House XI at Northampton, and later appeared for three counties -Hertfordshire, Northants and Cambridgeshire". He failed to gain a Blue at Cambridge, but in 1878 he played in the famous match against the Australians at Lord's when Cambridge won by an innings and 72 runs. For Hertfordshire he once took 10 for 13 against his former county, Northamptonshire. Pigg and his twin brother, Herbert, were commonly known as Hot and Cold Pigg!
