Hilton Chilcott commenced his cricket playing with Waratahs in Dalby on Sunday, then playing with Metropolitans in Toowoomba on Saturday. In 1982-83 he appeared for Country Colts in the match against Metropolitan Colts at Boonah. He spent the 1984 northern summer playing with Folkstone in the Kent League. He then came to Brisbane and played with Valley, including first grade in 1984-85, and later with Eastern Suburbs. In 1990-91 he returned to Toowoomba to play with Metropolitans. He has represented Eastern Downs in the Schaefer Shield. In the year 2000 he took up umpiring. He was educated at Dalby South State School and at Dalby State High School. In 1988 he graduated Dip Teach Ed at Brisbane College of Advanced Education, Mt Gravatt and commenced a career as a primary school teacher, for 1989 and 1990 at Cunnamulla and from 1991 at Wilsonton.
