Well there was a little wobble after the last drinks break, but the Lightning used all their experience in the end to bring the chase home.
The 123 run partnership between Dockrell and Balbirnie seems to sap the energy from the home team. Although the Warriors need well to take the game to the penultimate over.
Balbirnie didn't give a chance in his faultless innings and has to be in with a chance of picking up the player of the match award. Hopefully we will find out soon who picked it up today.
The Warriors were very reliant on their three main bowlers, there was a big drop off in quality when they weren't bowling. Sadly for them, there was just not enough runs to put the Lightning batters under pressure.
It's just been announced that Balbirnie has picked up the player of the match award.
Although that's not the thing that the Lightning are celebrating, that win today means that they have an unassailble lead at the top of the table and retain their title!
Well done to the Lightning, they have been the best team on show again this year and deserve to win the title. There will be no presentation of the trophy today as it isn't here!
This isn't the end of the IP50 this year though, Thursday we are heading once again to Pembroke as the Knights travel to play the Reds. The Mardyke is still too wet and so Dublin it is then....
Thanks for following along today, this is Justin saying goodnight from Eglinton
