2.45pm - Game off! Sorry folks, but the game has been called off. The umpires held off until the last possible moment to give the problem areas a chance to dry out, but the lack of any sun or wind today meant that the pitch has stayed damp and is unsafe for play.

Do make sure you tune in next week when Pakistan take on Ireland in two ODIs.

Thanks for sticking with us, but there will be no cricket in Edinburgh today.

2.15pm - With the next inspection in 15 minutes, the sun is trying to come out. Some of the Scotland players have said they will be happy to play on this, but the decision lies with the umpires. I'm sure Pakistan would like to give their fans something to cheer, before they jet across to Ireland tomorrow for another couple of ODIs, which you can catch here on Cricinfo too.

The covers are still on, and there is no urgency around the ground staff which may indicate that too much damage has been done by the rain yesterday.

1.40pm - Well, the umpires have decided on another inspection due at 2.30pm. The problem is that there is no sun or wind to dry out anything on this pitch, and I feel that the chance of play is highly unlikely. The wicket is fine, but a few spots around the square are close to mud, and the outfield is still wet. More news here as we get it, but don't get your hopes up too much.

1.15pm - This inspection is taking it's time, some of the players are having a look too.

The Pakistan team have just arrived, to a very warm reception from a big Pakistani crowd that have turned out to see their team here in Scotland. Both captains are now out talking to the umpires, and the rest of the Pakistan team are having a good look at the square too.

1.00pm - The umpires just heading out for another inspection, we will grab them as they come off to give you the latest. The rain has stopped but no sun to help dry out the square as yet.

More drizzle, and the covers are being moved over the wicket. Doesn't look great.

12.30pm - Some more light drizzle out there, the covers have been wheeled out to the middle in preparation, but stay off for now while the groundsman continue working on the wicket. The umpires are concerned about a couple of problem areas around the edge of the square that are particularly damp. There's a lake formed at the bottom of the ground behind one of the spectator stands from all the rain yesterday!

11.40am - A futher inspection will take place at 1pm, early lunch being taken.

11.25am - Both teams will be eager to get out there and make improved performances from Friday, where Pakistan beat Scotland by 96 runs, and you can read up on that report here.

While your waiting for news from Edinburgh, it's not raining at Lord's for the gripping first test between New Zealand and England, and you can keep track on both games right here.

There's an inspection due at 11.30am, so we should have some more for you then.

11.00am - Good morning and welcome to our coverage of this second ODI between Pakistan and Scotland at The Grange Club in Edinburgh. Unfortunately, there has been very heavy rain all day yesterday along with some light showers this morning which means that the start will be delayed. The outfield is wet right now, and the most experienced Scots are saying that all we can hope for is a 20 over game at around 3pm.

It's quite foggy here this morning, and although the rain has stopped it looks like the damage has been done. The groundsmen are hard at work with the blowers on the wicket to dry and get things dried out in the middle.

More information from the umpires as we get it for you.
