6.51pm And with that, Nat strolls over to her team to lift the trophy... with some difficulty it must be said. A very satisfying finish to the opening leg of the women's international season. Next up, it's England Men's turn in the second T20I, up the road at Bristol tomorrow. With any luck, that filthy weather has blown on through. From Miller, Alan and Thilak, good night!
Time for some presentations The Player of the Match is Sarah Glenn: "A long day, everyone did well to get the focus back on. Pressure when you come in to make an impact, but stayed in the present and was on when I needed to be on. It's healthy, seeing the development of the counties and the competition for places."
The Player of the Series is Amy Jones, after her two centuries. "Exceeded my expectations, a lot of fun batting at the top, and getting the win today. I knew opening was an option but not set in stone. Good opportunity with the Blaze and batting with Tammy. Her strengths are recognising the situation, good at reining it in, and getting through tricky patches. The biggest thing is the tempo of an innings. At the top, it ebbs and flows, you have to ride the waves. But taking one ball at a time helps me in all matches. India will be a great challenge with some of the best bowlers in the world."
Shermaine Campbelle: "Have to keep switching on, and executing better. We have to spend some time at the crease, Alliyah put on a showcase, credit to her for her innings. A lot of young girls stepping up and making improvements. A work in progress."
Nat Sciver-Brunt: "It has rained a few times in Taunton... a great way to finish the series. We wanted to have a bit more opportunity in the middle, but bowling first and the rain didn't help that. But looking at different combinations... trying things out. We have to gather information or we won't be able to explore nearer to the World Cup. It's a pleasing thing to see that everyone given an opportunity has put their hand up. Some girls have a few days off, then some domestic cricket. We'll be raring to go come India."
6.33pm Well, that didn't seem entirely probable at 3pm. But the horrific weather hurried on through, and so did England. A 106-run DLS-adjusted target barely detained them, as Dunkley set the tempo before NSB roared through the back end. West Indies put up a fight in adversity with the bat, recovering from a grim 4 for 3 through Qiana Joseph's 34 and some lusty blows from the tail. But that was nothing compared to the overdrive that England went into in clattering to victory at more than 10 an over. India are next up, and they'll be a stiffer challenge. But West Indies, remember, are the side that started the rot in that famous win at the T20 World Cup, and so this win in the first assignment for the new NSB-Edwards captain-coach combo is not to be sniffed at.
down the track, blazed over the covers! The skipper rushes to her fifty, and is just a blow away from completion now
chipped off the pads to midwicket, Capsey hurries back for two. The hundred is up
overpitched outside off, NSB skitters to the pitch, and crunches that over the covers with an open-shouldered bosh!
one on one knee for the scoop, gets underneath it a touch and it has more height than distance
Hello. I don't think I'll be detaining you for long
We're notionally halfway through the chase, but England are in a hurry. Over to Miler to apply the finishing touches
hauled away on the sweep, beats the dive of short fine leg! England getting this done in quick time
full toss, shovelled through midwicket. Grimmond slips but manages to get a boot in the way of the ball to prevent four
more pongo, doesn't quite go for six! NSB comes down the track again and lofts through long-off with a high front elbow, one bounce to the rope
47mph on the stumps, nurdled to leg and they scuttle through for two
pushed through, chopped into the turf off the back foot
boshed down the ground! Sciver-Brunt makes room to the leg side, comes down the track and launches Ramharack over mid-off
Third over for Ramharack
flat on the stumps, swatted down to long-on
hammered to the cover fence! NSB drops into the crease and frees the arms to bullet a drive past the dive of fielder in the ring
lobbed on a length, worked away through midwicket
hoicked away into the gap at deep backward square! Capsey brings out the orthodox sweep and nails her connection
full outside off, loopy 46mph delivery. Capsey reverse dabs one more through third
over the wicket, pushed through and spinning a touch. Nudged through fine leg
Ashmini Munisar on to bowl now
crunched through the off side! Ramharack drops a tad short and Capsey just relies on power this time, carving a cut away in front of square
tossed up outside off, Capsey gets cute with a reverse-ramp over the keeper down to third. Some confusion among the two fielders enables them to steal another
lobbed full on the stumps, worked back through mid-on
