Match Notes

  • Fateful loss for WI

As they seemed fated to do, West Indies lost the second Test to New Zealand by an innings and 105 runs with a day to spare at the Basin Reserve yesterday, but the West Indians had fought tenaciously, and deserved better than what appeared to be

  • Windies follow on

Not even a small classic of an innings by Brian Lara and a fantastic defensive effort by Adrian Griffith could stop the West Indies sliding closer to defeat by the end of the third day of the second Test against New Zealand at the Basin Reserve

  • Better Days are Coming for the West Indies (we hope!)

As the 2nd Test match between the West Indies and New Zealand draws to its almost inevitable foregone conclusion, with the West Indies probably losing the game, and the series 2-0 some time on Thursday next, except for some tremendous batting

  • Christmas in the workhouse for the Windies

'Christmas Day in the Workhouse' could be the theme of the West Indies preparations for the second and final test beginning at the Basin Reserve, Wellington on Boxing Day
