game, set and match. Absolute long hope, Pollard rocks back and muscles this pull into the stands at deep midwicket. As easy as wins go for the Zalmis. Umar Amin has played a superb knock, among the most attractive half-centuries you will see.
Qalandars vs Zalmi, 7th Match at Dubai, PSL, Feb 17 2019 - Match Result
Zalmi won by 7 wickets (with 59 balls remaining)
An absolute hiding for Lahore Qalandars. They really need to find a quick fix to their batting. Theirs looks a side with one batsman short.
Hasan Ali is the Player of the Match. No surprises there.
Now for the story of the match:
Hasan Ali ripped through Lahore Qalandars much-vaunted top order, while fellow quick Wahab Riaz tore through the tail to dismiss the PSL's most beleaguered franchise for 78, setting up a straightforward win for Peshawar Zalmi. The total was the second lowest in the PSL's history. Lahore were also responsible for the lowest score - 59 - with that too coming against Peshawar in 2017.
In response, Umer Amin eased any nerves Peshawar might have had after Shaheen Afridi and Haris Rauf removed the openers in the first two overs. Timing the ball sweetly, six fours in 11 balls the space of two overs all but killed off the Lahore fightback, and for the few runs that remained, both sides were merely going through the motions. Just to please the crowd, Pollard finished the game with a monstrous six, the stamp of dominance symbolically appropriate on a day Lahore had been humbled.
right into the blockhole, blocked.
short but down leg, wide called.
dismissed from his presence. Too short, he picks the length early and wallops this deep into the stands
advances but this full delivery angles in to hit him full on the pads. Given not out, but AB goes up immediately. Looked like impact was well in line. Let's see. More than 3m out of the crease and the ball would've grazed leg, so the on-field decision stays . They'll get a leg bye though
bunted back past the bowler for an easy single
half-volley on the pads and Umar says thank you very much. Balance and timing is superb as he flicks this to the midwicket fence
belted on the up to cover
beaten for pace, stumps flattened. Late movement back in, he looked to hop back and punch but missed.
eased wide of point to bring up one of the more attractive T20 fifties you'll see
off the thigh pad to backward square leg
fine leg fielder has fluffed a simple chance! Saad Ali fails to hold on. Rahat is furious, no timing from Umar Amin as he top-edged this
punches to cover again
Lara-esque! Picks the length, leans forward and laces this length ball through extra cover. Timing is stunning, shot of the night
tumbling stop at midwicket, was struck firmly
works this with the spin to long-on
rocks back and cuts to deep point
fired in, gets a leading edge to the off side
eased back to the bowler, good stop
punches to extra cover
