Length ball on off, plinked out to long off and collects a double which will do nicely for Orcas. They remain unblemished in the tournament so far and have won all three games.
Texas vs Seattle, 10th Match at Morrisville, MLC, Jul 21 2023 - Match Result
Seattle won by 8 wickets (with 24 balls remaining)
Until the next one, this is Rvel Zahid waving goodbye on behalf of Binoy George
Faf du Plessis, Captain Texas Super Kings: We didn't bat well, obviously tricky wicket, you gotta get through first six overs. It does get a bit better after first 10. First six overs for the them was tricky too and then it got easier. We have to find a way and the learning here is to play the first ten overs. After a game like this, we don't want to have an emotional response, just look at the things you can get better at.
Wayne Parnell, Captain Seattle Orcas: I think it's just about the process really. After the last game, I didn't bowl as well as I would have liked to. It was an opportunity to put things right and I kept it simple. I have enjoyed captaincy, I have always seen myself as leader; just been out there and add some flair to the captaincy, so far it has gone well. I think the first one (wicket) I got lucky, got a bit shorter then I wanted to. A really good ball to get Miller, and at backend once guys are trying to hit you, there is always a chance for wickets. There was a lot of assistance in the wicket so it was about hitting the right areas, I get the accolades but it's bowling as a unit....it's very pleasing, two very important games to go before we think about the knockout games. We want to recover and come back well. it's been challenging to play in different conditions. It's been great to bring cricket in America. Seeing people smiling and watching cricket is always pleasing.
Super Kings hardly took any wickets and had a slim chance to come back in the game after folding on 127. After this thumping win and a clinical run chase, Orcas now sit at top of the table with a healthy net-run-rate and with six points in their bag. Nauman Anwar made a scratchy 19 but he made sure he stayed on the crease for a vital fifty run stand with Quinton de Kock that set the platform. Later, Heinrich Klassen was quite severe on the bowlers and clobbered three sixes and four fours, striking at a staggering 200 to seal the deal for Orcas. Earlier, Wayne Parnell was unplayable; the former Proteas bowling spearhead used all of the tricks up his sleeve and picked up a sensational fifer to rip through TSK batting line-up.
Quinton de Kock: It's nice to have everyone contributing. We have got quite a lot hungry guys trying to win. I am not sure if I have made any impact on the youngsters. I am always open to speak to the youngsters, If I have made any impact, I am happy about it. We want to keep the momentum and we don't want to lose next two so need to keep the momentum going.
Fraction short and gets a little bit of inward seam movement towards middle and off, shoves it back to the bowler
A touch short around the line off, some deft touch now, deep third man in action again
Good length and wide of off, sends it bobbling down to deep backward point/ third man
Shortens his length on middle, tucked away to square leg and he jogs through a run
Round the wicket, shorter and meandering outside off, nearly chopped on
Mows this one downtown as well and earns another boundary! Fuller, he sits deep in his crease and pumps it down the ground, fielder at long on puts in the dive but he got no chance to cut it off
Thumped down to long-on boundary, it's raining boundaries as he uses brute force in his wrists.
Golf swing! Fuller and that goes fizzing away for a six. Probably he is struggling with the hand and once again gets clumped over the ropes
Blammo! Swings a baseball blow over long-on for a maximum. That is a proper wallop! Overpitched and pays the price
Short ball, oodles of width to munch and he leathers it over cover for a terrific boundary
Tossed up fuller and he pounds it hard back towards the bowler, Mohsin tries to catch it but cannot pouch it. It was hit really hard and he didn't get enough time to react and has hurt his hand in the process. Getting a bit of medical attention. Launch speed was 132 kph and hit inside of the wrist
Pitched up outside off and tempts him to go big, he tries to heave it over midwicket but couldn't get underneath it, ball lands a few meters in front of long on
On a length and gets a hint of wobble outside off, whipped away across the line to midwicket region
Donald Alexande: "Re Bravo leaving the field, it's not going to cost them the game (it's gone anyway) but does highlight that players who shall we say have higher mileage on the speedo than most, are going to be more subject to niggles and strains than their younger, less well travelled teammates."
Good length, swerving away outside off, calmly clipped across the line towards midwicket
Lands it on a slightly shorter length and offers room outside off, thwacked off the backfoot but cannot get it past the man at point
Fraction short and wide, waits a touch before slicing it away to backward point
Pitched up on middle, whipped away to square of midwicket
Good length and very wide of off, chops it away past point for a sizzling boundary. That was a freebie served on a plate and he didn't miss out. Mohsin has got 8 wickets and is leading the wicket-takers list
Fuller and holds its line outside off, shuffles across and paddles it past the keeper, deep fine cuts it off. Opens his account with a audacious shot
