slower ball on a good length that spins away extravagantly from leg as she tries to clobber it over square leg and ends up getting stumped, nifty piece of glovework. Trent Rockets are on the board and get their first win of the season, did it quite convincingly
Rockets vs Spirit, 13th Match at London, Women's Hundred, Aug 14 2025 - Match Result
Nat Sciver-Brunt, Match Hero: It feels brilliant! We were really excited to play at Lord's Cricket Ground. I feel like we did well in patches. I'm happy to come in whenever I'm needed and I got a good chance to put together an innings. All-rounders are key in any team; she's massively important and a brilliant leader
Slow powerplay, and they always seemed under scoreboard pressure -- never really getting the momentum in the chase, as the Trent Rockets kept pushing them back with regular wickets. Trent Rockets have finally put in a concerted effort and a complete performance, collecting their first win in clinical fashion. They've moved up one place to sixth while London Spirit lose their first game in four and still remain in second spot. Earlier, Bryony Smith thwacked 42 off 33, Natasha Wraith held her end of the bargain but Nat Sciver-Brunt made the difference with a fast-paced half-century, well supported by her captain, Ashleigh Gardner. In reply, Spirit capitulated; only three batters got into double figures but none could push on for a big innings. They got a few chances (dropped catches) but couldn't capitalize. Kirstie Gordon showed her class, picking up four key wickets while Ashleigh Gardner and Heather Graham took two apiece. Cassidy McCarthy along with Alana King - who bowled much better with her leg-breaks - chipped in with one wicket each, knitting together a complete bowling performance. They were helped by an above-par total, which gave them the freedom to bowl more uninhibitedly
That's it from the second game of today's double-header! You may now switch over to the men's match and enjoy more Hundred action. For now, it's goodbye from me, Rvel Zahid, and Thilak Rama. Babye!
over the wicket, length ball skidding on at off, inside-edge skews away to short fine and she gets off the mark
gobbled by the fielder at cover! Back of a length on middle, change of stance and pulls softly to the fielder inside the ring, adds 9 and tries to prevent a big dent to their NRR
Graham charges in from long-on and nearly took a gem, just landed in front of her and she stops a four, was full on middle, heaved down the ground
around the wicket, full and outside off with some spin, swats it to deep point, backspin puzzles the fielder inside the ring
shorter in length on a tight off-stump line, eyeing leg-side and ends up getting a thick deflection, beats short third and the ball had just enough legs to reach the rope
searching for the yorker, getting some inswing, driven away to long-on
slow dipping near yorker on off, worked to midwicket
fuller on off, crouches and loads for a slog sweep, hit her on the waist, beaten by the lack of pace
over the wicket, fuller and outside off, takes the aerial route and got plenty of power behind, dropped by Sciver-Brunt at deep midwicket, ran across and covered plenty of distance, stretched her hands out, just couldn't make it
fuller and appreciable outswing wide of off, drags a sweep across the line to the right of midwicket
flung down full and it swings away wide of off, chases it and gets beaten on the outside edge
half-volley on off, takes a step down and gets right underneath to larrup it up and over the bowler's head towards long-off for a four
touch fuller and skidding on at middle, clipped in the air towards deep square
over the wicket, length and moving in the air on sixth stump line, connected square of midwicket
backs away a lot and she pulls her length back, keeps it wicket to wicket, slapped to long-off
fired it quick on a length at middle, comes down the track and shanks it back to the bowler
shorter and angling down leg, whipped in front of midwicket, looks like they have already given up
wide of the crease from, back of a length with a hint of turn wide of off, eases it to cover
Around the wicket, tosses it up on a slightly fuller length and gets it to drift in towards middle, tries a slog sweep and gets hit on the pads, vociferous appeal for an lbw and given straightaway by the umpire. Sent upstairs for further examination. Nothing on the ultra-edge, third ump says keep rolling through. Hits her high close to the midriff. Still waiting. Pitching in line, impact is also in line and hitting the top of middle stump and she had faint hopes, was near the rope and quickly goes back into the hut
