Nathan Coulter-Nile and Yasir Arafat bowled superbly at the death to derail Hobart Hurricanes close to the finish line.
Chasing 154, Hurricanes had brought the equation down from 46 in the last five overs to 21 off 18 balls with seven wickets in hand. Arafat bowled a magnificent 18th over, taking two wickets and conceding only five runs to bring Perth Scorchers back into the game. Coulter-Nile then shut the Hurricanes out in the penultimate over, taking two more wickets for two runs. With 14 to defend in the 20th, Arafat conceded only seven and completed a six-run win for the Scorchers.
After winning the toss, the Scorchers had been set up by Shaun Marsh and Simon Katich, who added 60 for the first wicket inside eight overs. They then lost three wickets for five runs, before Mitchell Marsh made 33 and Ashton Turner blitzed 32 off 17 to lift the score to 7 for 153.
