7.40pm Time to say goodbye, then. Hop over to the game in Jaipur, where Kolkata Knight Riders opted to bowl. Bye from this tab, and see you on the other!
7.35pm Time for the presentation.
Kagiso Rabada, the Man of the Match: "It was a weird tournament for us as a team. Today my lines worked for me, and I'm glad. On a daily basis, you try to execute you simple skills. And not all the time does it work perfectly, but you should try to get it in a decent area. To be honest, I don't see myself as a leader in the bowling group. But if someone needs advice or needs my help, I'm always there. As a player, I believe I have a responsibility at the top and at the death."
Winning captain Shreyas Iyer: "Tough pitch to bat on, wanted to play positively. I bank a lot on my cut-shots, and I need to wait for those balls to play them. Wanted to maneuver the ball, and keep the singles. I think they were 10-15 runs less on this wicket, it was two-paced, and very happy how Rabada bowled in the last two overs. Really good for the team. The collapse isn't worrying, but we need to think further moving on. We will think about such areas we can work on. I'm really positive the boys will come back positively. Big satisfaction when you win a game. Atmosphere in the dressing room and hotel is really good. I'm doing alright as a captain, want to maintain it."
Virat Kohli, the losing captain: "We thought 160 would be competitive, but we kept losing wickets at regular intervals, so I wanted to take the game deep. Even 150, had we held on to our chances, would've been difficult for them. We need to grab those chances, can't give excuses every day. We just weren't good on the given day. That's the whole story of RCB this season. When AB got out, I had to anchor the innings. Stoinis was good, Akshdeep was good too. When one senior batsman gets out, it's important for the other senior to anchor. I wasn't happy getting out at the stage, could've made 25-30 more for the team if I was still there till the end, but felt 160 was a good score. When the mind is cluttered, you wouldn't be able to focus on the chances that come your way. When you have clarity, you can take your chances better. Shreyas made 65, he was dropped on eight. You never know, could've come into the game that time. There's nothing more you can tell the team. We've asked the boys to take responsibility. It hasn't happened so far, and that's the reality. Need to play expressive cricket. Personally, not trying to control anything. After a while, it's about the skill. Team needs to relax, whatever's in front of us, we need to accept it. We want to enjoy as a team, otherwise we won't be able to play any good cricket."
Pranav Kumar: "Only 4 people are playing in XL.. So we can see four people in stats"
ShaileshR: "So Pant couldn't finish the game again. It frustrates me how he's so talented and yet all he has to show for it are two test hundreds. He has a long way to go to justify his talent."
TrueRcbFan: "I wish Parthiv had not dropped Shreyas in the first over, the fate of game would have been written differently. "
Ashwin Rishinar: "When a team does this bad, it's bound to win the next year's tournament. See Deccan chargers 2009 Mumbai 2015."
7.19pm Another woeful day for Royal Challengers Bangalore. The three late Capitals wickets did make the game interesting, but RCB weren't in the contest for most of this chase. Dropped catches and scrappy fielding the story behind their loss once again. Shreyas Iyer took the pressure off this chase after Shaw and Dhawan fell early on, and eventually it was his anchoring knock that ensured Capitals were always ahead of the eight-ball.
meher: "It.tells.you that, its a team which win you games not players...."
Amitkumar Bobad: "Y Chahal is at the second position with 9 wickets on the 'Most Wickets' list....Kohli, AB and Patel are at 5th, 7th and 8th position respectively on the 'Most Runs' list. And RCB is at the last on the Points Table. What an irony. "
Thando: "Could've been very close if Iyer was caught in the first over..."
