Gloucestershire Gladiators and Essex Eagles had to settle for a point each after their Friends Life t20 South Group match at Bristol was abandoned without a ball bowled. With persistent rain falling on the County Ground, umpires Robert Bailey and Jeff Evans decided at 7pm that there was no chance of even playing a five-overs-per-side thrash.
The Gladiators have now taken just three points from seven games, while the Eagles have claimed five points from their seven matches.
