Scorecard
Glamorgan finished their disappointing Friends Life t20 campaign with an eight-wicket Duckworth-Lewis victory over Gloucestershire in Cardiff.
The hosts restricted Gloucestershire to 133 all out after putting them in to bat and reached 18 for 1 in the third over of their response. When play resumed, Gareth Rees (30) hit two consecutive sixes off the bowling of Muttiah Muralitharan to help the Dragons reach an adjusted target of 62 from eight overs with six balls remaining.
Glamorgan's win means they finish seventh in the South Group, one place ahead of the Gladiators. It was another shaky display of batting from the visitors as they were bowled out with final ball of their 20 overs.
Despite being reduced to 26 for 2 the Gladiators were in reasonable shape early on as New Zealand batsman Hamish Marshall made 35 from 29 balls with six fours. But the visitors had no answer to the pace of Simon Jones (2 for 23) and Will Owen on a relatively quick Cardiff pitch.
Owen finished with figures of 3 for 21 from his four overs, having Kane Williamson brilliantly caught by Mark Cosgrove at mid-wicket after Jones had bowled Kevin O'Brien with the fifth ball of the contest.
The turning point for Gloucestershire came when Marshall was caught at deep midwicket during a wicket maiden from slow left-armer Nick James. There was a brief recovery launched by Chris Taylor (25) and Ian Cockbain (23), who put on 46 in four overs, but from 89 for three they were reduced to 102 for seven.
The only other resistance came from Jon Batty, who ended unbeaten on 19 after watching wickets tumble at the other end, with Ian Saxelby and Muralitharan being bowled by Alex Jones (three for 32) at the end of the final over.
